Sally called when she got the word

샐리가 나를 부르더니 말하더군

She said "I suppose you've heart about  Alice."

" 당신은 앨리스를 사랑했지요"?

Well, I rushed to the window, and I looked outside,

그래, 나는 창가로 달려가 밖을 보았지

And I could hardly belive my eyes,

내 눈을 의심하지 않을 수 없었어

A big limousine pulled slowly into Alice's drive

큰 리무진이 앨리스의 집으로 들어오다니...

 

Oh,I don't know why she's leaving , or where she's gonna go

오,나는 몰라, 왜 그녀가 떠나는지 어디로 가는지..

I guess she's got her reasons but I just don't wanna know,

그녀대로의 이유는 있겠지만 나는 이해할 수가 없어

'Cause for twenty four years I've been living next door to Alice

아무래도 그녀가 그집에서 24년을 살았기 때문이야

Twenty four years, just waitin' for a chance,

24년 동안 사랑의 고백을 털어놓을 기회를 기다리면서

To tell her how I'm feeling, may get a second glance,

내 느낌을 그녀에게 말할, 어쩌면 날 보기를 바라보면서

Now I've gotta get used to not living next door to Alice.

 지금은 옆집에 없는데 익숙해졌지

 

We grew up together, two kids in the park

우리는 함께 자랐지, 공원에 있는 두 꼬마

Carved  our initials deep in the park...

우리 이름의 머리글자를 나무에 깊이 새겼었지

Now she walks to the door with her head held high,

지금 그녀는 머리를 높이 들고 문으로 걸어가네

And just  for a moment, I caught her eye,

그리고 잠시 동안 그녀는 나를 바라봤어

As the big limousine pulled slowly out of Alice's drive.

그리고 큰 리무진이 그녀의 집 밖으로 나갔지

 

I don't know why she's leaving, or where she's gonna go,

나는 몰라, 왜 그녀가 떠나는지 어디로 가는지..

I guess she's got her resons but I just don't wanna know,

그녀대로의 이유는 있겠지만 나는 이해할 수가 없어

She said "I know how to helf get over Alice."

그녀는 "나는 어떻게 앨리스를 이겨내는지 안다."라고 말했어

She said " Now, Alice is gone, but I'm still here,

그녀는 "이제 앨리스는 가버렸지만 나는 여전히 여기 있어

And you know I've been waiting twenty for years"...

그리고 내가 24년 동안 기다려 왔잖아"라고 말했어

And the big limousine disappeared..

그리고 큰 리무진이 사라졌지
